Licenses, application pathways and examination requirements

Each license and applicant pathway has its own requirements and exemptions. Choosing practice questions does not determine your eligibility.

Registered Behavior Technician

Nevada registration to provide applied behavior analysis under qualified supervision.

Licensing authority: Board of Applied Behavior Analysis · Application information

Reinstatement following child support or subpoena compliance suspension
No examination is required for this applicant pathway.
Compliance Letter
Under NRS 641D.730(2), the Board must reinstate upon receipt of the specified letter from the district attorney or other enforcing public agency confirming compliance with the subpoena or warrant or satisfaction of the arrearage.
Examinations
This mandatory compliance-letter reinstatement route in NRS 641D.730(2) imposes no examination.
Suspension
The credential was suspended under a district court order pursuant to NRS 425.540.

Official no-examination sources

Effective from 2026-09-22.

Licensure or registration by endorsement under general licensing law
Additional Information
Under R005-24 Section 31, the Board may request additional information, an oral interview, or both. The interview is an applicant condition, not an independently identified examination.
Application
Submit the Board-prescribed application, accompanying materials and applicable fees under NRS 641D.300 and R005-24 Section 30.
Application Completion
The application expires if it is not complete within 180 days unless the Board approves a requested extension under R005-24 Section 32(3).
Background
Arrange the required fingerprints, provide written authorization and obtain the required criminal-history report; a conviction listed in NAC 641D.600 disqualifies the applicant.
Certification
Show current BACB RBT certification under NRS 641D.310(3); the Board may not impose additional education or training.
Child Support
Submit the signed child-support statement required by NRS 641D.330; issuance and renewal require compliance with the applicable child-support order or approved repayment plan.
Endorsement Eligibility
Hold a corresponding valid, unrestricted license from another United States jurisdiction and substantially similar qualifications under NRS 622.530(1), subject to implementing regulations and the profession-specific requirements of NRS 641D.310.
Endorsement History
NRS 622.530(2) requires no professional discipline, misconduct liability, suspended or revoked license, prior refusal, or pending disciplinary action; provide fingerprints or proof of a comparable criminal-background check, fees and the child-support statement.
Examination Timing
The BACB certification examination may have been passed before applying; current certification is required, and the exam leaf does not require an already certified applicant to retake it.
Immigration
Immigration or citizenship status alone is not grounds for denial; an applicant without a Social Security number supplies an alternative personally identifying number under NRS 641D.320.
Other Approved Examination
NRS 622.530(3)(a)(1) permits the Board, by regulation, to require a passing score on a nationally recognized or other approved examination; the unnamed remainder is a condition and does not create another examination identity.
Supervision
Provide notice of employment and qualifying supervision under NRS 641D.610 and R005-24 Section 30(5); supervision must comply with the Nevada-adopted BACB handbook provisions.
Statutory reinstatement after suspension for nonpayment within two years
No examination is required for this applicant pathway.
Board Rule Conflict
R005-24 Section 36(2) states: 2. A registration as a registered behavior technician that has been expired for more than 60 days may not be reinstated. NRS 641D.370 expressly retains the statutory reinstatement authority; this lower-ranked prohibition is shown as the Board’s stated restriction.
Examinations
NRS 641D.370(1) defines fee-suspension reinstatement without naming an examination.
Payment
Pay the current biennial renewal fee and the restoration fee specified by NRS 641D.370(1).
Suspension
NRS 641D.370(1) automatically suspends registration when the biennial renewal fee is unpaid for 60 days and permits reinstatement within two years after suspension.
