Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
This policy explains how OpenExams handles information in connection with open-exams.com. You can browse and practice without creating an account or providing payment details. For privacy questions, contact contact@open-exams.com.
Practice progress on your device
The practice feature saves selected answers, whether an answer has been checked, and your position in a question set in your browser’s local storage. This lets you resume practice in the same browser. These records are not submitted to an OpenExams account or uploaded by the practice feature.
Local storage has no automatic expiration set by our practice feature. Records remain until you clear the site’s browser data or your browser removes them. You can delete them through your browser’s site-data settings for open-exams.com. Blocking or clearing storage may prevent progress from being saved or restored. Progress is not synchronized by OpenExams across devices or browsers.
Website requests and hosting
When you load a page or question file, the infrastructure delivering it processes technical request information, such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time. Hosting and security providers may process logs to deliver content, diagnose failures, and protect the service from abuse.
We use Cloudflare infrastructure for content delivery and storage. Information about its processing is available in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and any name, message, or attachments you provide. We use that information to respond to your inquiry, investigate reported errors or rights concerns, and handle your request. Email service providers process these communications to deliver and store them.
Please send only the information needed for your request. Do not send passwords, payment information, medical records, or confidential examination questions.
Cookies, tracking, and external links
The current practice application uses local storage for progress and does not include advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Hosting and security services may use their own technical mechanisms to deliver and protect the website.
We do not use the practice feature to track your activity across unrelated websites. The application does not change its behavior in response to a browser’s Do Not Track signal. Browser settings can still restrict storage and other technologies.
Links to examination authorities and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices. Visiting those services may disclose information to them under their policies.
Use, disclosure, and retention
We use information for the purposes described above: providing and securing the website, responding to messages, and addressing errors or legal concerns. Information may be handled by service providers supporting those activities, or disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights and the security of the service.
Correspondence is retained as needed to handle the request and any related dispute or legal obligation. Infrastructure log retention depends on the relevant provider and service configuration. Browser-saved practice progress is controlled separately by your browser, as described above.
Your choices and requests
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict its processing. Send requests to contact@open-exams.com. We may need information reasonably necessary to verify and locate your request, and will handle it according to applicable law. You may also have a right to contact your local data protection authority.
We cannot remotely clear progress stored only in your browser. Use your browser’s site-data settings to remove those records.
Children’s privacy
OpenExams is intended for people preparing for licensing and certification examinations and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and address it.
Policy changes
Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent, that requirement still applies.
