Business Entity Producer
Optional business-entity producer licence for agencies serving the Casualty profession. DFR states the entity licence itself has no lines of authority; natural persons retain their own licensing duties.
Licensing authority: Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, Insurance Division · Application information
Business entity reapplication after termination
- Application
- Submit the Uniform Business Entity Application and applicable fees under § 4813f(b).
- Authority
- DFR states there are no lines of authority on this entity license and business entities cannot be appointed by insurers.
- Designated Producer
- Designate an actively licensed natural-person producer responsible for compliance; identify the DRLP on the application. Termination of the DRLP terminates the entity license unless the designee is replaced.
- Individual License
- Entity licensure does not relieve any natural person selling, soliciting or negotiating Casualty insurance of individual producer licensing.
- Lower Ranked Resident Instruction
- The DFR Business Entity Producer page’s Resident Apply Online paragraph says: “Residents must wait 48 hours after passing their producer examination before submitting an electronic application.” The specific entity requirements in § 4813f(b) name fees and a licensed DRLP; the page instruction is retained as an applicant-facing condition and does not create an entity examination leaf.
- Previous Termination
- Reapply when entity license terminated after loss of the DRLP; designate an active replacement producer.
