- Continuing Education
- 12 hours for a term of 18 months or less; 24 hours including 3 ethics hours for a longer term, subject to 83-17-251(4) exemptions.
- Exam Discretion
- Under 83-17-39(1)(a), renewal ordinarily requires no examination; the commissioner may require this licensing examination to establish competency, and it is required when the licence has not been effective within the preceding year. This discretionary examination remains a leaf under the survey contract.

- Discretion
- The applicant may request waiver of renewal procedures, any examination requirement and fines or sanctions; commissioner approval is not automatic. Any competency examination not waived is the Personal Lines Producer examination.
- Hardship

Resident new application following revocation
- Good Cause
- Show good cause why revocation should not bar a new licence; approval remains discretionary.

- Waiting Period
- Do not file another producer application within one year after effective revocation, or within one year after the final judicial order affirming revocation if review was sought.
Resident restoration after suspension

- Suspension
